Meet Mandie

Who am I?

That’s kind of a loaded question.

One version is that I’m a twenty-something-year-old Christian blogger from Nova Scotia, Canada. I am studying Business, and I work at a fast-food joint on the weekends.

That’s the simple answer – for all of you “straight to the point” people, there you have it. You may now continue perusing my site.

However… if you’re anything like me, you’re not really satisfied. No worries, you’re in luck – I’ve never been good at “short and sweet” anyway. You understand that pretty well if you read anything I write.

My name is Mandie Pitre, and I’m a college student who works part-time, writes sometimes, and wonders most times. That wondering includes pretty much everything: what will I specialize in educationally, where am I going with my life, and sometimes when should call it quits for the day and get some sleep (apparently sleep is important?).

When I’m not working or doing schoolwork, I may be out and about exploring my city, learning martial arts, singing songs from YouTube and trying to actually hit the high notes, running while still remembering to breath, testing out new coffee shops, or settling into my umpteenth book I’ve started and have yet to finish. One of my favorite things to do is hang out with all my younger teen friends and see the world through their eyes – you guys are all amazing! I love notebooks, lattes, cheesecake, scarves, puzzles, books, and sunsets.

My work life has consisted of almost a dozen different employers, everything from office to retail to construction to fast-food. Some may think I jumped around too much (and filling applications that require your work history is kind of a pain), but I don’t regret any of my jobs. Every job gave me unique perspectives, opportunities, and experiences that I would trade away.

My writing portfolio is quite broad, as I generally write whatever strikes me at the moment. In my younger years this consisted of poetry, songs, plays, short stories, and devotionals, but now my main focus has been blogging and journaling, with a dash of fiction. As a source of writing accountability, I’m in a writing community called The Young Writer’s Workshop, where I have made many close friends and have learned a lot about writing.

So, there you have it: me condensed in a nutshell. If you’d like to keep in touch and see what I’m up to, you can follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Also, feel free to send me a message via my Contact page.

Looking forward to hearing from you, and thank you again for checking out my website!
